Every site is different, but these answers provide a useful starting point. For site-specific direction, speak with our team.
Ask a question ↗︎01When should I involve a town planner?
Ideally, before purchasing a site, finalising a design or committing significant project expenditure. Early planning advice can identify opportunities, constraints and the most suitable approval pathway before they become costly.
02Can you assess a site before I purchase it?
Yes. We provide planning due diligence and development potential assessments to help purchasers understand applicable controls, likely approval pathways, key risks and questions requiring further investigation.
03What types of projects do you advise on?
We advise on residential, commercial, industrial, logistics, renewable-energy and infrastructure projects. Our involvement can range from an initial feasibility review to managing a planning pathway through approval.
04What is the difference between a DA and CDC?
A Development Application is assessed by a consent authority against relevant planning controls. Complying Development is a streamlined approval pathway available only where a proposal meets prescribed standards. We can advise which pathway may apply to your project.
05Can you liaise with council and government agencies?
Yes. We prepare and coordinate submissions, attend meetings, respond to information requests and engage with councils and agencies to clarify issues and maintain project momentum.
06How long does the approval process take?
Timeframes vary according to project complexity, the approval pathway, authority workloads, referral requirements and the quality of submitted information. Following an initial review, we can outline likely stages and key timing risks.
07Do you work with existing consultant teams?
Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects, engineers, builders, environmental specialists, lawyers and other advisers. We can join an established team or help identify the disciplines a project may require.
08How do we get started?
Send us the site address, a brief description of the proposal, its current stage and your main questions. We will review the information and recommend a practical next step.
